What made you apply to BwB?

Powered by former investment bankers, BwB is uniquely positioned to facilitate communication between the public and private sector, making it the perfect fit for someone like me who wants to learn how to use their knowledge of financial markets and structuring expertise to tie profits with purpose.

What was your experience through the BwB recruitment process?

The amount and quality of time a firm spends on a person during an interview is reflective of the investment the firm is going to make in them – at BwB, I had members across all designations talk through the philosophy and vision. I was extremely impressed by the drive, motivation, and passion each interviewer had for the subjects, and the ease with which they lay out structured approaches for complicated questions around sustainable development. While I was tested on not only my technical skills, but also the ability to navigate tricky situations, the entire process was a massive learning curve in gauging my own abilities.

How would you describe your first month at the firm?

The prospect of creating strategies and conducting extensive research across the spectrum – from sovereign debt to private financing in nature and biodiversity, was quite daunting initially, but the unparalleled mentorship programme and the analytical team support helped massively in maintaining and galvanizing pace and learning.

What do you love about working at BwB?

The close mentorship programme and the ability to define myself at the firm are two things that I absolutely love about working at BwB!

As an analyst, I co-lead and design strategies for projects with senior members who have decades worth of experience in the industry, which when combined with the exposure to clients and partners on a daily basis, has helped me grow exponentially, both professionally and personally. Along with this, because of the philosophy of the firm, all analysts are encouraged and mentored to hone their skills in their area of interest, and eventually lead projects in the associated space – ultimately growing in their own direction, at their own pace.

Since we operate in both environmental and social domains, I see this opportunity as a way to materially contribute to causes I’m passionate about, with the support of a fantastic team!

What advice would you offer to someone considering a career at BwB?

What made you apply to BwB?

What persuaded me to apply to BwB was the unique group of features that characterises this company: a “not-for-profit” that wants to have a leading role in the green financial market, powered by former investment bankers. This is an incredible combination of purpose, impact, and expertise that I wanted to be part of.

What was your experience through the BwB recruitment process?

The recruitment process was an important learning experience. During the three rounds of interview, the candidate is tested under all points of view: from financial structuring to leadership, from modelling to communication, from economics to passion and dedication. You can feel how people in the company are dedicated to their role since the first conversation, making the all process empowering and inspiring. It really makes you want to be part of the team.

How would you describe your first month at the firm?

Overwhelming! Since the first day, analysts are put on the front row of projects, dealing with content, strategy, and clients relationship. It takes some time to understand how to navigate this level of commitment, but the team is there to support and teach you how to handle complex situations.

What do you love about working at BwB?

Two elements: the variety of projects and the team.

BwB has the rare characteristic to empower its analytical team to a level that I have never seen before in the job market. The internal company’s “flat structure” allows analysts to make decisions, co-lead projects with Managing Directors, and work on a vast variety of subjects (from blue economy to forestation, from sovereign debt to green cities etc.), being subject to a level of exposition with clients and partners that is unimaginable in the investment banking sector. This number of responsibilities allows analysts to grow their professional profile way faster in comparison to many other companies. This is possible because the whole team works together with a common purpose: assist high impact projects that benefit the environment and social good. In BwB, the team comes first to every individualism. Everybody is ready to support each other, sharing knowledge, expertise, and advices with colleagues. We all row in the same direction, and this makes everybody feeling as part of a great group.
